Description:

This course is a foundational course in Gender Equality and Social Justice which specifically builds on the Introductory course. In its focus on the local, national and international contexts of power and oppression the course positions gender inequality as one of numerous, intersecting system of oppression. The course will also consider the historical as well as contemporary contexts through which such things as race, class, sexuality and ability continue to be some of the primary categories through which inequality is perpetuated. This course may be credited towards Social Welfare and Social Development.
