Description:

This course introduces the student to major genres and authors of the literature of ancient Rome. Major stylistic innovations and characteristics of specific genres and authors will be examined and each work will be situated in its appropriate social, cultural, political, and historical context. This course may be credited towards English Studies (Group 1).
