Description:

This course will introduce the student to the history of ancient Rome from its foundation, through its rise to imperial domination, and ends with the collapse of the Roman Empire in the West. Special attention will be paid to changing social, economic, and political structures, the origins and evolution of empire, and the impact of empire in Rome and on Rome's conquered subjects. This course may be credited towards History.
