Description:

Teacher candidates explore research, theory, and practice associated with literacy development in children from birth to age 8. Candidates develop awareness and recognition of emergent and early language, literacy, and concept development; emerging listening and speaking, viewing and representing, reading and writing behaviours; developmentally appropriate materials, assessment, and evaluation within a holistic and integrated view of teaching and learning, and the role of families as the first educators of children.
