Prerequisites:

Six credits from the following: ENGL 2006, ENGL 2007, ENGL 2255, ENGL 2265, DIGI 2305, ENGL 2305, DIGI 2405.

Hours:

Three hours of lecture per week for one term.

Description:

Students study one or more of such popular genres as crime fiction, science fiction, fantasy, romance, gothic, horror, or historical fiction. Although specific content varies from year to year, students consider why genres often dismissed as ""entertainment"" should be taken seriously in their historical, cultural, and ideological contexts.
