Hours:Three hours of lecture per week for one term.
This course examines colonialism in First Nations' communities from contact with Europeans to the 1960s. Topics covered may include early patterns of treaty making, the imposition of a colonial relationship, measures of control and assimilation, the Indian Act, residential schools, relocation of Aboriginal communities, and the 1969 White Paper. This course is also offered as NATI 3406.
