Bachelor of Social Work
Faculty of Applied and Professional Studies

Admission Requirements-for detailed Admission information please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@nipissingu.ca

The social work program will be grounded in principles of social justice, with a particular emphasis on the historical and contemporary position of Aboriginal peoples in Canada, as well as the practice of social work in rural and Northern contexts. The curriculum will be grounded in an intersectional approach to social justice, which acknowledges the salience of diverse identities such as level of ability, race, ethnicity, age, sexuality, among others. A 700 hour practicum will be a core foundation of the program, designed to enable the development of practice skills and the integration of theoretical knowledge with practice. Graduates will have the skills to be self-reflexive and knowledgeable generalist practitioners, with a solid background in the realities of northern and rural contexts.
