Description:

Students learn how the extended family, clan, and community are integral facets of Indigenous social structures and how these structures weave together to raise new generations of children. Students examine the lingering impacts of colonization on family systems, along with current responses to the impacts. Students critically examine how current social policies continue to threaten Indigenous social structures.
