Description:

Students explore the complex relations between hydrological and social systems. We critically examine the integrated watershed management paradigm using case studies from the local to global scale. Topics covered include Indigenous water rights, evolution of water allocation laws, water markets, participatory decision making, climate change, groundwater, wetlands, among others. The course can be taught together with ENST 5346 Integrated Watershed Management with undergraduate students being subject to different assignments and evaluation criteria than graduate students.
