Local, national and regional officials from many countries around the world are negotiating daily with indigenous groups over matters of self-government, natural resource extraction, land use and ownership treaties plus many other issues of importance. Students consider the role of conflict, power and persuasion in order to identify best practices for successful negotiations between indigenous peoples and settler societies in Canada and beyond.
