Description:

Students analyze the relationship between Disney animated and live-action adaptations of fairy tales by Charles Perrault, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, and others. Students examine the ways in which form, audience, nationality, and historical period transform the work stories do in conditioning children into adopting cultural ideals of adulthood.
