Description:

This course is the first of two courses designed for teachers who are interested in becoming qualified to be principals in Province of Ontario. Part I focuses on what it means to be a principal in the Public and Catholic school systems. The course includes a strong emphasis on the interpersonal skills required to lead and manage the development and operation of the school within the community. Candidates will become familiar with the Education Act and Regulations, Ministry of Education and School board policies and procedures, collective agreements, and other matters as they have an impact on school operations and the principal's role.
