Description:

Teacher candidates acquire knowledge and strengthen understanding of the foundational mathematical concepts and skills (e.g., counting, sorting, patterning, comparing) found within the Ontario Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program document. Candidates analyze the roles and responsibilities of teachers and early childhood educators (i.e., the ""EL-K team"") and the central role of play within an inquiry-based and real-life context driven curriculum. Candidates develop the skills for designing and monitoring environments and classrooms that promote emergent numeracy.
