Description:

This course will examine the challenge and need for all educational stakeholders to make schools safe. Diverse topics include: meaning and images concerning violence, systemic violence, the social context of violence, the rural/urban experience, diversity and culture, youth disaffection and schooling, causal links to violence, health issues, architecture, participative and democratic schooling and conflict resolution.
