Description:

Integrated Arts is an introductory course that will provide candidates with the basic foundations of Integrated Arts methodology, focusing on the theory and practice underpinning Integrated Arts education or education related to arts-based integration. It explores the teaching of and learning of concepts, curriculum, program delivery, and connections between arts theories as well as the expression of the arts in cultural contexts. This course will be of interest to teachers who wish to deepen their knowledge of Arts education and consider an integrated approach to cross-curricular teaching. Candidates will explore, in an integrated delivery model, topics and issues of particular relevance to the educational context in which they work. Combining their knowledge of student development and learning with their understanding of the needs of exceptional students, candidates will develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes critical to the delivery of Integrated Arts in a manner that ensures positive, meaningful learning experiences for all students.
