Description:

Teacher candidates explore the development of mental health services in Ontario and the inclusion of people who have mental illness within our community. Candidates critically examine key and early indicators of mental illness, types of interventions, awareness of mental health issues, access to supports, teaching strategies, classroom management and safety issues. Candidates demonstrate their understanding of how mental health corresponds to resiliency, stigma, confidentiality and protection of privacy, and minority groups.
