Description:

A variety of topics such as advertising, public relations work, popular music, the star syndrome and celebrity culture, and the marketing of new products and services in mass societies are considered. Topics covered include the competing traditions of folk culture, high culture, and mass culture, and efforts to assess the value of cultural entities and the creative processes associated with their production.
