Chemistry (CHEM) - Electrochemistry
CHEM 4206 Electrochemistry
Prerequisites:
CHEM 2106
Hours:
Three hours lecture and laboratory instruction per week.
Credits:
3
Description:
Students examine the physical properties of charged electrode/solution interfaces and the chemical processes that occur as a result of changes in electrical energy at those interfaces. Topics include a review of electrode processes of electrochemical cells, redox reactions of inorganic and organic substances, electrochemical instrumentation, electric double-layer structure and adsorption, electrode reaction kinetics and potential sweep methods.
