In the first term the student and the instructor will meet regularly to discuss the assigned material and at the end of the first term the student must submit a research proposal on their selected topic. In the second term the student is expected to produce a major research paper based upon their proposal. During the second term the student and the instructor will meet regularly to discuss the student's progress and to provide the student with appropriate guidance and support in pursuit of their research project. The student will be introduced to standard research practices and methodologies and will be expected to incorporate these into the final research paper.
