NURS 3116  Nursing Research I

Prerequisites:

All NURS courses at the 2000-level with a minimum grade of 60% or SAT, or all RPN to BScN courses at the 2000-level with a minimum grade of 60% or SAT; BIOL 2116, SOCI 1016 .

Antirequisites:

NURS 4016, NSGD 4016

Restrictions:

Enrollment in the Collaborative BScN or RPN to BScN On-Campus Bridging Programs.

Hours:

Three hours of lecture per week for one term.

Description:

Students are introduced to nursing research core concepts and the application of research to their nursing practice. They critique paradigms of research and compare components of the various methodologies. The students practice critical appraisal and develop an understanding of the process of research and its relationship to evidence-informed practice.
