Description:
This course is a general orientation to the program and to the Academic Health Center's organizational vision, mission and values. Students are introduced to select clinical areas and patient populations served by the practice environment, and begin to explore and question the practice challenges faced by the future nurse as beginning scholar-practitioners from the perspective of Generativity and Life and related concepts, as follows: Learning involves the discovery of one's own narrative and those of others through inquiry. Through concepts of narrative inquiry, scholarship and nursing, learners find meaning in embodied experiences; who they are and how they reciprocally influence the world.
