Description:

This course examines colonialism in First Nations' communities from contact with Europeans to the 1960s. Topics covered may include early patterns of treaty making, the imposition of a colonial relationship, measures of control and assimilation, the Indian Act, residential schools, relocation of Aboriginal communities, and the 1969 White Paper.  This course is also offered as SWLF 3406.
