Description:

Teacher candidates investigate foundational theories and pedagogical approaches within early years education, including learning through play and inquiry, the role of the environment, coconstruction of learning, and pedagogical documentation. Candidates explore Kindergarten curriculum learning expectations and conceptual understandings, as well as Ontario's early years framework. A holistic, integrated view of teaching and learning is discussed; including a critique of developmentally appropriate practice in relation to school, community, and family settings and partnerships.
