Description:

Students in this advanced seminar class will build on the introductory material covered in CRJS 2086. The major criminological theories are reviewed, and the underlying assumptions and empirical evidence of each theory are critically evaluated and discussed. Students will examine how the dominant criminological theories have developed and changed over time, and ends by examining contemporary trends in criminological theorizing.
