Description:

Students examine contemporary theory and issues in the field of serial and mass homicide. Emphasis is placed on the social construction of serial murder and their victims, the impact of media and social perceptions on serial killings, and the legal responses to multiple murder. Students apply criminological theory to specific offender case studies.
