Description:

Were the explorers who set out to settle the New World, America, adventurers, outlaws, or pioneers? How does the notion of the frontier shape early American Literature? From early travelogues and diaries to poetry and fiction, students examine early American historical and literary narratives from different socio-cultural perspectives.
