Description:

This course introduces students to the sociology of collective behaviour, including the theories and research studies that seek to understand how unstructured social phenomena such as crowds, publics and social movements arise in society. The study of collective behaviour includes such phenomena as fads, fashions, riots, panics and mass hysteria. This course may be credited towards Criminal Justice and Social Welfare & Social Development.
