At least three credits of the following: POLI 2306, POLI 2207, POLI 2707, POLI 3226 or POLI 3206

Description:

Students examine the origins of diplomacy in relation to the modern nation-state. Students learn the “nuts and bolts” of diplomacy, as well as obstacles to successful diplomatic missions. Topics include preventing violent conflict; the role of non-state citizen diplomacy; and the role of communications technology and social media as they impact contemporary diplomatic practices.
