Description:
The course traces the chronological development of literature in English read by children from its beginnings in the seventeenth century with alphabets, primers, and didactic literature, through the poetry and fairy tales of the eighteenth century, to the “Golden Age,” a period beginning in 1865 and ending in 1914.
