Description:
Students examine Paradise Lost and a variety of poetic, prose, and dramatic works, in their cultural-historical contexts including controversies about idolatry, magic, and witchcraft, developments in visual culture, geographic exploration, and scientific study, and discourses of sexual and racial otherness.
