Six credits of 2000 level ENGL (excluding ENGL 2001, ENGL 2011) or any 45 credits completed (excluding ENGL 1501, ENGL 1502, ENGL 2001, ENGL 2011).

Description:

Students examine a selection of British poetry, prose, and fiction from the mid-1780s to the mid-1830s, commonly known as the Romantic period. Through a close examination of each text in the context of the cultural discourses in which it was produced and received, students gain a better understanding of the literary responses to social, intellectual, and political upheavals.
