Description:

From the beginning of the epidemic, women have been considered less likely to be infected with HIV. Students explore the way this assumption has led to a bias in research, treatment, and prevention that has cost the lives of millions of women worldwide. By taking an intersectional approach to understanding women and HIV, students learn the ways that gender, race, class and age matter in the battle against the spread of HIV.
