Description:
Students study applied data science, quantitative and qualitative design in behavioural and social sciences, including experimental, quasi-, single subject, mixed-methods, program evaluation, and story-telling with data. Empirical coverage includes developing hypotheses, empirical protocols, sampling, survey design, measurement, ABAB, multi-element, multiple baseline, repeated acquisition, and combined design. Qualitative coverage includes phenomenological analysis, narrative analysis, ethnographies, case studies, thematic analysis, and issues of data generation and generalization. Evaluation coverage includes formative, summative, process, implementation science, and outcomes/impact. This course is also offered as CHFS 2026.
