Prerequisites:

CHEM 1006 and CHEM 1007 or GEOG 1017 or permission of the instructor.

Antirequisites:

ENSC 3397, GEOG 3397, GEOL 3397

Hours:

Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory work per week for one term.

Description:

Students examine the soil as an integral part of our physical environment, studying soil profile characteristics in the context of soil-forming factors, pedogenic processes, and soil classification systems. In laboratory sessions students analyze typical soil profiles in the field and methods of physical, chemical, and biological analysis of soil samples in the wet lab. This course is also offered as ENSC 3397 and GEOG 3397.
