3Description:
Students explore theories and practices of social change, as well as the purposes, organization and strategies of social movements organized by marginalized populations. Students investigate various approaches to advocacy grounded in an anti-oppressive, structural approaches to social work, addressing such issues as social location, privilege, conflict and social change. How these approaches have been applied in varied contexts and in relation to diverse groups is a central focus of the course.
