Students develop core competencies associated with generalist social work practice, including communications, advocacy, and collaboration, through experiential learning opportunities. The skills of integrating ethics, values, and theory into practice are incorporated into case studies, fostering reflection on the processes of decisionmaking. Critical self-reflection is a central focus of the course as a means of understanding how one’s identity may be implicated in practice.
