Master of Science in Kinesiology

Graduation Requirements:

To graduate with a Master of Science in Kinesiology degree, students must:

  1. satisfy all stated requirements for the degree;
  2. complete the specified courses, with a minimum overall average of 70%, and a minimum grade of 70% in each course after no more than one attempt;
  3. complete the program of study according to the time-to-completion guidelines in the School of Graduate Studies Regulations document.

Program Requirements:

The MSc in Kinesiology program is a research-intensive, thesis-based program. Students are expected to complete the program within 24 months (2 years) of their initial enrolment. Students complete coursework within the first two semesters of their enrolment in the program and complete their thesis by the end of the sixth semester in the program.

Students must successfully complete 30 credits as follows:
KINE 5006 Research Methods in Kinesiology 3 cr.
KINE 5007 Statistics in Kinesiology 3 cr.
KINE 5206 Integrative Seminar in Kinesiology 3 cr.
KINE 5453 Research Thesis 18 cr.
Three credits from following electives (choose one): 3 cr.
KINE 5016 Sensory-Movement Behaviour  
KINE 5017 Biomechanics and Ergonomics  
KINE 5026 Sport, Excercise and Performance Psychology  
KINE 5027 Health Promotion  
KINE 5036 Behavioural Medicine  
KINE 5037 Advanced Cardiovascular and Environmental Excercise Physiology  
KINE 5046 Independant Research Project in Selected Topics  
KINE 5047 Directed Readings in Kinesiology  
KINE 5106 Special Topics in Kinesiology
