HIST 3415  Fieldwork in Classical Archaeology

Prerequisites:

Twelve credits of History with at least 3 credits at the 2000-level; or any 54 credits completed.

Antirequisites:

CLAS 3415

Hours:

32.5 hours per week comprised of 5 hours of fieldwork and 1.5 hours of lectures/workshops per day.

Description:

Students participate in an archaeological dig at an ancient Greek or Roman archaeological site with the Balkan Heritage Field School where they learn the basic techniques of archaeological excavation and research methods such as the dating, classification, analysis, and conservation of various types of material culture. This course may be credited towards Anthropology.
