Description:

The underlying purpose of the Special Education Part III (Specialist) is to provide teachers with more in-depth information and practice in extending and applying the knowledge and skills acquired in Special Education Part II to meet the diverse needs of learners in our schools. This course is designed to assist teachers in developing leadership and consultation skills in Special Education at the school and board level. As the focus at the specialist level is on leadership, teachers are required to complete a professional development activity that describes and reflects an area of leadership in special education. Teachers who successfully complete EDUC 3235 will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for the Additional Qualification SP ED-SPEC.
