Prerequisites:

PHED 3056 (formerly PHED 4016) and 54 credits completed.

Restrictions:

Restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program.

Hours:

Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory work per week for one term.

Description:

Students develop the clinical skills and knowledge necessary to assess musculoskeletal movement patterns and prescribe therapeutic exercise. This practical course challenges students to apply anatomical principles in the prevention and treatment of orthopedic injuries related to physical activity and sport. Topics include gathering relevant medical history, functional assessment, understanding posture, performing upper and lower body muscular testing and understanding the modalities used in treatment.
