SWRK 3505, SWRK 3216, SWRK 3406, SWRK 3356, SWRK 3357, SWRK 3506, SWRK 3806, SWRK 3316 and SWRK 3106

Hours:

Three hours of lecture per week for one term.

Description:

Students explore theories of social work practice skills as a basis for developing ethical group practice. Topics include assessment from multiple perspectives, stages of group formation, facilitation, intervention skills, and evaluation. Addressing the needs of diverse groups is explored throughout the course, with a particular focus on northern and rural contexts. Applying theory to practice and further developing skills of critical self-reflection are central.
