Description:

In this course, students will examine art and cultural production through the lens of the formation of Canada pre-1900. In particular, students will use art and cultural objects to question the idea of ""Canada"" in relation to a variety of topics that may include histories of Euro-settler-Indigenous contact, colonial expansion, immigration, nation-building, and the installation of liberalism.
