Restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program.

Three hours of lecture per week for one term.

Description:

Students examine the background, history, and philosophies of health promotion. The social ecological framework and health are discussed in the context of planning of health promotion programs. Evaluation of health promotion programs, the use of theory in health promotion, social marketing for health are explored. Students examine community building, organizing, and empowerment for health in a variety of settings such as worksites, post-secondary institutions and community settings.
