From internet cats and the animated beasts of Disney’s Zootopia to the BBC’s Planet Earth, as animals themselves are dying in ever greater numbers our digital obsession with them has ‘gone viral’. Students explore a range of theories that inform what has come to be known as ‘the animal turn’ in the visual arts and social media.
