Description:

This course examines Germany during the first half of the twentieth century to determine the place of Hitler and the Third Reich in German history. The course examines the establishment and collapse of the Weimar Republic, and the rise of Nazism and selected topics include the rise of National Socialism, the Nazi ""seizure of power,"" Nazi ideology, the role of Hitler, collaboration and resistance, and the Holocaust. This is a reading intensive course.
