Description:
Students explore and evaluate the opportunities and challenges associated with generalist social work practice in the context of northern, rural, and remote settings. Drawing on theories of community engagement, students examine how community practice may harness the collective knowledge and strengths of citizens to effect social change. Students apply theory to practice using case studies and engaging in approaches to community organizing.
