Description:

Students examine the history of love, sexuality, and ideas of the erotic among the ancient Greeks and Romans from the early Archaic period to the fourth century CE. Topics covered include gender constructions and roles, sexual relations, marriage, homoeroticism, and expressions of sexuality especially in Greek and Roman literature, art, and law, as well as their evolution through antiquity.
