Description:

Students encounter creative representations of climate change, environmental violence, and human/nonhuman relations and analyze material drawn from a diverse range of generic representations of nature, including the pastoral, the wild, and the (post)apocalyptic, in a variety of forms including narrative fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and film. The interface between European and Indigenous ways of knowing receives particular attention. Students gain knowledge and skills through experiential learning, in the form of outdoor education activities.
