Prerequisites:

Twelve credits of History with at least 3 credits at the 2000- level; or any 54 credits completed. HIST 2377 an asset but not required.

Description:

Students explore the history of healthcare in the United States and engage with the ongoing debate over individual freedom versus collective action. Students study key developments in the United States within historical context and in comparison to events in other western nations like Canada. Course content begins with colonial perceptions of health and the body and ends with the COVID-19 pandemic.
