Description:
Students consider wide-ranging cross-cultural and historical changes in conceptions and practices of family life. Topics include queer families, reproductive rights and freedoms, 2SLGBTQI+ family rights, supporting transgender, non-binary and other gender non-conforming children and youth, heteronormative marriage and the settler state, the economics of the nuclear family, decolonizing sexuality and marriage, critical nonmonogamy, emotional and relational intelligence, and the role of the family in building socially and environmentally just worlds.
